Capoeira is an unique martial art which involves the combinations of sports, martial arts and music. It uses rythem as their momentom to execute this martial art techniques. In other sense, a Capoeira student is actually DANCING during combat. It is known by quick and complex moves, using mainly kicks and quick leg sweeps, with some ground and aerial acrobatics, knee, elbows, punches and headbutts.
Brazilian actually regards Capoeira as a game and is to be "played", not fought.
During training
During training, One will have to find a partner to training together. Instead of sparring like any other martial arts, partners actually thrive off of each other, feed on each other and build each other up. If you were to observe their training method, one will perform techniques that will not even touch his partner, same goes to the other partner as well. In other words, both of them are actually dancing cooperatively along with the rythem of the music.
My thoughts
In my opinion, Capoeira is really interesting!! Who would have thought that dancing can also be used as a martial art. I know many friends who love dancing, maybe they could pick up Capoeira classes. This not only satisfy their passion, it also allow them to learn "more" about dancing. Isn't this AWESOME!? How I hope a martial art can be develope from my interest as well. From ARCADE?? I hope.=X
